Fields of competence
- assessment of natural ecosystems biodiversity, including protected areas and anthropogenic landscapes;
- measures and methods proposals of the restoration and conservation of natural biodiversity;
- the evolution of natural ecosystems under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors;
- ecological restoration of degraded ecosystems
- conducting environmental impact studies and adequate evaluation studies;
- development of local/regional strategies, policies and programs for biodiversity conservation on the Ministry of Environment and Forests or Environmental Agencies request;
- using satellite and GIS techniques for research and studies in biodiversity assessment;
- assessment and rehabilitation of anthropogenic ecosystems, useful for the society (meadows, pastures, forest protection, accumulation lakes, crops)
- Evaluation of optimal needs of semi-urban habitat areas (green areas and surface waters) in order to sustain the urban rules of sustainable development of localities (s.m. green areas/ capita), differentiated by the natural vegetation and water surfaces in the vicinity of the locality.
